Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is a revolutionary minimally invasive technique that provides comprehensive rejuvenation of the appearance. There are two types of fundamentally different surgical interventions:
The first is upper blepharoplasty, which is aimed at eliminating drooping eyelids. Their shape, volume and position are corrected.
The second is lower blepharoplasty, which in turn can drastically change the lower part of the periorbital outer zone around the eye, but also eliminates such common bags that appear under the eyes with age.

The most frequently asked question is the consequences and scars. So, during the procedure, small incisions are made in the natural folds of the eyelids, excluding all signs of scars after a healing period. The scars, which initially appear red, will be hidden and almost invisible within weeks.
These surgeries are considered minimally invasive as patients do not need to be hospitalized. The total surgical time is 60 to 90 minutes for upper blepharoplasty and about 90 minutes for lower blepharoplasty. The sutures are removed within a few days after the intervention and our patients can return to their daily lives within 7-10 days after the intervention.
We provide all the necessary post-operative consultations and recommendations to speed up the healing process. Of the general recommendations for recovery, our specialists prescribe to our patients the application of local cold to the area, as well as to sleep slightly with the head elevated to minimize the possibility of swelling. It is also recommended to apply lymphatic drainage massage to the area to try and shorten the recovery period.
Our patients who are preparing for a blepharoplasty in Spain should keep in mind that during the first week after the operation, sports, efforts and sudden movements that can cause an increase in blood pressure will need to be avoided.
