Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) are a group of disorders caused by dysfunctions of the temporomandibular joint. This complex condition can include a variety of clinical manifestations, such as jaw pain, limited mobility, clicking or crunching sounds in the joint when moving, as well as headaches and neck pain. The TMJ is involved in various functions, such as chewing, swallowing and speech, so its dysfunction can significantly impair the patient's quality of life. These disorders can be both functional and structural in nature, and often require a multidisciplinary approach for diagnosis and treatment.<\/p>\n
