Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the joints and is accompanied by skin manifestations of psoriasis. The disease combines elements of both arthritis and skin pathology, often causing inflammation and damage to the joints, which can lead to functional impairment and limitation of mobility. PsA can occur in people with an established diagnosis of psoriasis, but it also happens that joint symptoms precede skin manifestations. There are many mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of psoriatic arthritis, including immune and inflammatory processes, making it a subject of active study in the field of dermatology and rheumatology.<\/p>\n
