Nummular eczema, otherwise known as discoid eczema, is a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterized by the appearance of round or oval eczema-like lesions. These lesions may have sharp borders, are raised above the healthy skin, and are often crusted. The condition can occur in both adults and children, causing itching, discomfort, and a significant reduction in quality of life. Both men and women are susceptible to this condition, but its manifestations may vary depending on age group, previous dermatological diseases, and overall health. Nummular eczema is considered a multifactorial disease, in which hereditary factors, immune responses, and the environment play an important role.<\/p>\n
