Norrie disease is a rare inherited disorder that belongs to a group of inherited disorders that affect the eyes and, in some cases, the central nervous system. It is defined by the presence of progressive retinal atrophy associated with a genetic mutation, which eventually leads to vision loss. The disease may also be associated with other systemic disorders such as hydrocephalus, small anomalies in the digits, and deafness. It is important to note that the disease most often manifests itself in childhood.<\/p>\n
