Lambert-Eaton syndrome is a rare autoimmune disease characterized by impaired neuromuscular transmission. The pathogenesis of the disease is due to the production of antibodies to presynaptic P\/Q-type calcium channels at the neuromuscular junction, which leads to a decrease in the release of acetylcholine and subsequent muscle weakness. Unlike myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome is characterized by increased muscle strength after repeated contractions, which is an important diagnostic feature.<\/p>\n
