Herpetic stomatitis is an acute infectious disease caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV), which most often affects the mucous membrane of the mouth and lips. This condition can manifest itself in the form of extensive vesicular rashes, painful ulcerations and local hyperemia, which leads to significant discomfort and disruption of oral functions such as chewing and swallowing. Children are most susceptible to this disease, but it can also be observed in adults, especially those with weakened immunity. The infection can manifest as primary or recurrent, depending on the state of the body's immune system and the presence of previous infections.<\/p>\n
