Fourth cranial nerve palsy, or trochlearis nerve palsy, is a neurological disorder that regulates the movement of the superior lateral rectus oculi. The condition occurs when the fourth cranial nerve is damaged or dysfunctional, which results in impaired motor function of the eyeball. Patients with the condition may notice difficulty moving their eyes and experience duplex vision (double vision), which significantly impairs quality of life and limits daily activities. The palsy may be unilateral or bilateral, depending on the etiology and extent of nerve damage.<\/p>\n
